Mr KO, Albany Western Australia
I have been hard of hearing and suffering from tinnitus for 30 years. From the time of my accident doctors and audiologists always told me there was nothing that could be done for me. They told me to learn to live with the tinnitus and a hearing aid would be no good to me because it would just make the tinnitus worse.

I had become quite depressed about my tinnitus and was not coping very well with it. My doctor suggested I try Western Hearing Services. After an extremely thorough assessment and appointment with someone who finally seemed to understand the nature and effect of tinnitus, I heard the magic words. "We can help you".

I had my hearing aids adjusted and fitted two weeks later and I have entered a new world. Not only have the hearing aids improved my hearing, but I am no longer aware of my tinnitus when I am wearing my hearing aids. I am no longer embarrassed in social situations with a lot of background noise because my hearing aids can adjust and cope with all types of situations. Instead of that constant noise in my ears which seemed to be forever changing pitch, I hear the birds, the TV (with the volume at a level my wife is thrilled with), the wind blowing and all of the other great sounds I have been missing out on. I can't wait to "get my ears in" each morning and I can't believe how much I was missing out on.

The staff at Western Hearing Services went out of their way to accommodate me, to reduce the number of trips I needed to make to Perth. They provided prompt backup and advice when I had a couple of teething problems. My audiologist was extremely thorough and understanding, and always took the time to clearly explain to my wife and I each step of the process. He has also made himself available to provide advice and follow up answering queries promptly and clearly.

I can only thank my audiologist at Western Hearing Services for opening up a whole new world for me and ending 30 years of frustration with tinnitus and being told "there is nothing we can do". With the technology now available there is something that can be done.

Mr Milton Forstat
I am writing to tell you how happy the new hearing aids have made me. I am now able to hear well without the discomfort of previous hearing aids. It's a case of having ears which work. I congratulate you and the Western Hearing Services team, and hope you continue the good work you are doing.
