Private health insurance extras cover may be available to assist with hearing aids and services.

We encourage you to check with your private health insurance provider for any entitlements you may be eligible for.

• Depending on your coverage level, your private healthcare provider may list hearing aids and services under extras cover.
• Depending on your coverage level and extras cover, your private healthcare provider may pay benefits towards hearing aids up to your annual limit.
• You don’t need a GP or ENT referral to visit our hearing clinics, however, your private healthcare provider may ask for a referral letter you receive benefits for hearing aids and services.
• As each health insurance policy is different, we recommend that you contact your health insurance provider directly to determine your eligibility.

Here are some questions to consider when you talk to your health insurance provider about hearing aid coverage

1. Does my insurance plan cover hearing aids?
2. What rebate do I get towards one hearing aid and what is it for two hearing aids
3. What options do I have in case I want to upgrade my insurance plan to include the purchase of hearing aids?
4. In case you offer an insurance plan that covers hearing aids, are there any criteria associated with it?
5. How much do the various insurance plan options cover when hearing aids are purchased?
6. Is the insurance plan limited to specific hearing aid models or hearing care providers?
7. Will I have to pay the provider the full amount for the hearing aids before receiving reimbursement from the insurance company?
